Sharni was born in Nambour on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and raised in Mackay tropical North Queensland.

In primary school, she performed lead vocals at school concerts, writing or changing song lyrics and melodies. In her teenage years she developed a passion for writing poetry, and in Melbourne in her late teens would occasionally practice with a local heavy rock band.

In 2005 she performed her first karaoke, being one of three at a theatrical dinner in Melbourne. This was the stepping stone in becoming accustomed to live performing, often joining the dance floor. In 2011 she started performing with Gavin in clubs and hotels.

After living in Tasmania for many years, in 2013 Sharni returned to her home state and continued performing, and in 2017 she and Gavin launched Genexis as a 4-piece on the Sunshine Coast.

In March 2019 she moved to tropical Magnetic Island where she presently performs with Gavin as a duo.

Sharni conveys the energy of a song, tailors to different music styles, displays a high energy performance, and motivates you to ‘live in the moment’ and get you rocking!
